CLIENT: TUI Group/Thomson
PROJECT: Hotel Resort Training
The product development team at TUI approached us to assist them with a key stakeholder event at their head office in Luton.
The objective was to update both head office and retail staff on their range of different package options and to provide information on their updated product offerings.
Having reviewed several reality based solutions—it was decided that an immersive 360° installation would provide the best opportunity for retail staff and management to experience the latest range of destination products. This met the key requirements of realistically simulating the experience of being at these resorts whilst also facilitating shared conversation and interaction.
As the preferred solution, the Sublime Portal was hired for the duration of the event and was used to great effect to enable the attendees to experience a number of Thomson and First Choice resorts around the world using a series of interactively controlled 360° video environments that had been captured specifically for use at this event.
We also spent time with the product and marketing teams at TUI to ensure that the correct specification of video footage was captured to ensure that the recreation of these places would be convincing and authentic.
The feedback from all the delegates was extremely positive and the value in being able to experience these destinations was perceived as being particularly key to their ambitious retail objectives. There are plans to trial this approach at several main outlets and a series of events at major UK shopping centres.
“The dome was a great success. It really brought the concept to life and allowed everyone to have a fully immersive experience with the fantastic visual and audio. It’s a really unique way to portray landscapes, hotels including rooms and lobbies.
We will certainly look forward to working with you more on this.”
