The Augmented Worker

Sublime News

Transforming the world of work

We are pioneering tools that will drive efficiency, safety and create an enhanced, collaborative working environment, using augmented reality.

Whilst still in early development, AR is now also being pioneered in businesses, with a clear benefit identified from layering digital information overlaid onto the physical world around workers.

Sublime has been at the heart of these developments, exploring advancements in the technology and its applications. The business has specifically identified the benefits of augmented reality wearables in construction and high-end manufacturing in recent years. This has led us to working with Crossrail and Innovate UK to explore applications and test in live sites in the UK. Following the proof of concept in underground sites, it has clearly been identified that the application has considerable benefits to the industry, that could also be applied in other sectors.

TOOLS OF THE FUTURE:

1. REAL TIME CO-DESIGN & ENGAGEMENT

A project’s timeline can be accelerated and therefore cost’s reduced by having the client and designer create and visualise potential layouts quickly for large-scale developments in Augmented or Virtual Reality (AR/VR)

2. DIGITAL JOB GUIDANCE

Downtime is reduced due to improved communication flow and with access to a global knowledge base by enabling operatives to communicate with a remote expert and provide animated step by step instructions.

3. PROCESS MONITORING CONTROL

A risk of errors is reduced and delays with rapid and efficient task completion by being able to track task times, check inventory and even incentivise workers

4. ON-SITE VISUALISATION AND PLANNING

Downtime is reduced due to improved communication flow and with access to a global knowledge base by enabling operatives to communicate with a remote expert and provide animated step by step instructions.

6. ASSET MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE

A project’s timeline can be accelerated and therefore cost’s reduced by having the client and designer create and visualise potential layouts quickly for large-scale developments in Augmented or Virtual Reality (AR/VR)
